Wednesday. Time: From 18.00 to 20.30h
Departure from the UPV to the City of Arts & Sciences. We will meet on the hall of 3P building at 17:50 h and participants will be guided to take the buses out of the campus (Avd Naranjos-TORO OSBORNE).
Arrival and photo stop to see one of the landmarks of Spain, the City of Arts & Sciences designed by world-reputed architect Santiago Calatrava, including the Opera House, the Hemisferic, Science Museum, Umbracle and Agora. All those building will be explained from a viewing point easily accessible from the bus.
Continuation of the tour with a panoramic tour by pass to the old City passing by the old Turia riverbed, Gran Via Marqués del Turia, Colon Market, Torres de Quart and Torres de Serranos (medieval old entranceway into the old city).
Continuation of the tour on foot to visit the oldest part of the City (all exterior): Plaza de la Virgen (one of the oldest squares in Valencia), Cathedral (which combines several architectural styles, Romanesque, Baroque, Gothic…), Lonja de la Seda (one of the greatest examples of late Gothic architecture in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Central Market (one of the oldest markets still in use in Europe), Town-hall Square and the North Station.
IMPORTANT: Congress bus service will not be available at the end of the visit.
